A bit about us
The Canalside Cottage is a 200-year-old outbuilding which has been lovingly restored into a warm and inviting cottage.
The cottage holds many of it's original features, from the Staffordshire Blue Tiles, the amazing King Trusses, and even the red bricks have been recycled to rebuild the outside of the cottage.
It has been an amazing process watching the restoration of this wonderful building, and it has all been documented here, on Facebook, and Instagram.

The cottage has been thoughtfully designed to create a home from home feel, making your stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible, with everything you need for a short break or a longer holiday.

A super king-size bed (6ft x 6ft6) for extra room and indulgence, with quality linens for a restful night's sleep. The room also includes a basin.

Smart TV with apps from Netflix to Amazon, a HDMI cable, a large dining table, coffee machine, kettle, games, outdoor patio table, garden area.
Cosy touches
Underfloor heating throughout, bedding, towels, dog blankets and a water bowel for your four-legged friends.

OUR LOCATION
In the heart of Shardlow
The cottage is located on the Trent and Mersey Canal in the historic village of Shardlow, known for its rich canal history. The village became an Inland Port during the late 18th and early 19th centuries, especially after the construction of the Trent and Mersey Canal. Shardlow is one of 4 Heritage Inland Ports and one of 14 Heritage Harbours in the UK.
The cottage is perfectly placed for exploring the village of Shardlow, the Derbyshire countryside and the many attractions of the surrounding area. The property has private and secure parking, ensuring your safety while you explore the village.
